54 Trinity 500’s, in diamond formation, carrying a flag for each of the Commonwealth nations will take the lead in front of Her Majesty’s barge, Gloriana, on the Thames on June 3 2012.
They will be joining over a 1000 vessels set to travel the seven mile route down the Thames in a spectacular celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The flotilla will pass under 14 bridges in ten separate sections each marked by vessels carrying playing musicians.
Londoners got a preview of the big day earlier in the month when 15 Trinity’s took to the water at Putney for a dry run of the course. 60 cadets from units across the region including, Rickmansworth, Southwark, Rugby, Eastbourne, Tewkesbury and Oxford manoeuvred the craft with skill and dexterity impressing the Port of London Authority and MP Jim Fitzpatrick who were watching from a launch alongside.
On the day 300 cadets will motor from Wandsworth Bridge to Tower Bridge, helping the Queen to celebrate 60 years since her coronation.
