Westgate and Birchington Golf Club's Kind Donation

Westgate and Birchington Golf Club's Kind Donation

It was with huge gratitude that the committees, staff and cadets of Margate Unit that Brian Williams from Birchington and Westgate Golf Club presented a cheque for £876.60 to the unit on Tuesday 18th February 2014.

This donation was raised by the Golf Club at various charitable events they held during the last year and is going to make a huge difference to the cadets. The funding will help to pay for servicing vehicles including the RIB but will also go towards badges for cadets to reward them for their hard work.

Brian, a volunteer for many years in the communitee himself, was more than happy to consider Margate Sea Cadets for the funding he and his colleagues have raised. He felt it important to support local charities especially those that help the youth of Thanet ensuring they are given the best chance to succeed and keep on the right path.

We cannot extend our thanks enough and will hopefully be able to show our gratitude by having the Unit's band play at the Club to welcome members and guests and hope to make their round of golf even more memorable.

Thanks again Brian and the members of Westgate and Birchington Golf Club, your kind donation is very much appreciated.
