Peter Knibbs Captain's Medal

Peter Knibbs Captain's Medal

Peter Knibbs receiving his 50 year service Captain's Medal from Captain Windsor.

Peter started at the Unit when he was 13 years old as a cadet.  He progressed through the Sea Cadets and then as a young adult he joined the Navy and served with the Fleet Air Arm.  On his return from Naval service he came back to the corps and eventually achieved the rank of Lieutenant and became the CO of T.S. Windsor Castle.  After his term as CO he joined the unit management committee, after which he became Vice-President of the unit.  Since then he has attended more or less every function there has been at the unit and is one of our greatest supporters.

CO John Gathergood

CO John Gathergood

T.S. Windsor bade a fond farewell to their CO John Gathergood after 13 years service at a presentation evening on Thursday 11 October.  However, he has not left the corps completely as he has taken up the post of Assistant District Officer for London Western District.

John received his award from Captain Windsor - Captain of the Sea Cadet Corps.

We are still expecting to see a lot of him at the unit though!!
