Success at the District Drill competition

Success at the District Drill competition

Once again, our cadets did us proud in a closely fought series of events at RAF Halton on Sunday 17th February.  Our individual piper, armed guard, continuity drill squad, junior drill squad and junior piping team will all be representing the district at the same venue in the area competition.  Commiserations to our two squads who came a close second and thanks to the CO of RAF Halton, district staff, our staff who trained our cadets so effectively  and the parents who helped transport and supported our cadets.

MK Community Foundation Charity Car Raffle

MK Community Foundation Charity Car Raffle

For most, if not all, of the thirty years that Volkswagen UK have generously donated a car, we have been proud to play our part in selling tickets and providing a visible presence in Centre:MK.  This year was no exception with several of our cadets turning out to support staff, parents and trustees who sold a large proportion of our ticket allocation as well as answering enquires regarding the unit.  Thank you everyone.

Bag-pack at Morrisons

Bag-pack at Morrisons

Sunday 2 December also saw us bag-packing at Morrisons supermarket in Westcroft with a good turnout of cadets and staff, despite half of the unit being away at a competition (see below), earning a magnificent £800 for the unit's funds.  Thank you Morrisons' customers for your generosity, management for giving us this opportunity, the staff for their cheerful support and our cadets, staff and trustees who turned out for the event, some staying the full six hours.
