Farewell to our ASC

Farewell to our ASC

Today our MOD owned ASC (Admiralty Sailing Craft) has been finally taken away after spending a few years parked on our main deck. The ASC was discontinued a few years ago and was replaced by the newer T500 Trinity designed specifically for the Sea Cadets by Olympic medallist Jo Richards.

Rowing Training

Rowing Training

Last night cadets at the unit took part in Rowing Training.

The cadets involved performed several manoeuvres afloat, including recovery of a simulated man-overboard.

All cadets showed improvement and greater confidence in their Rowing ability, and are progressing towards their next Rowing Proficiency qualification.

If you are interested in attending Rowing Courses please speak to the Training Officer.

Area Shooting Weekend

Area Shooting Weekend

LC Robertson, MC Wolnicki, and Cdt Whitehead attended an Area Shooting Weekend at Kingsbury Rifle Ranges in preparation for the Inter-Service Cadet Rifle Meeting (ISCRM) in July.

The Cadets fired the L81A2 Cadet Target Rifle at 100m and 300m in a range of challenging weather and wind conditions.

(Please Note: Cadets are taught weapon handling skills as part of a structured programme of supervised training that emphasises safe and responsible use)
