This evening it was fantastic to have the Royal Navy AET in this evening delivering training on the Submarine Service and some team STEM activities building comms antenna! Thanks to the RN AET for coming in!

Able Cadet Ben and Ordinary Cadet James represented the unit at the Devon District Piping Competition that was held at the unit. 

AB Ben and OC James came 2nd as a team.

OC James came 3rd as an individual piper.

On the 1st of February (01/02/22) We welcomed Cdr Davis RN - Commanding Officer of HMS Vivid and Lt Cdr Lees RN - HMS Vivid's Executive Officer.

During the visit both officers were able to see the training cadet undertake. At the end of the evening Cdr Davis RN was able to advance one of the ships company from Ordinary Cadet to Able Cadet.

Volunteers Come Join Us!

We are currently looking for new volunteers that are keen and enthusiastic to develop young people using the ethos and traditions of the Royal Navy & Royal Marines.

At Plymouth (Drake) Sea and Royal Marine Cadets, we have three sections to our unit being; Junior Sea Cadets (10-12 year olds), Sea Cadets (12-18) as well as a Royal Marines Cadet detachment (13-18).

We cover subjects from:

• First Aid
• Marine engineering
• Navigation
• Catering
• Diving
• Adventure training
• Meteorology
• Aviation
• Duke of Edinburgh's award

As well as inshore boating which includes:

• Rowing
• Paddlesports
• Dinghy sailing
• Windsurfing
• Powerboating

We give opportunities to gain qualifications from the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), British Rowing, British Canoeing, in addition to all our Proficiencies and specializations up to instructor levels.

Commitment can be flexible depending on your circumstances. There is no requirement to become a uniformed volunteer (However, we encourage it!)

*Note that all volunteers are subject to a regular DBS check and other mandatory safeguarding requirements.
