80 Years of Plymouth (Drake)

80 Years of Plymouth (Drake)

Did you know that this year marks 80 years of the unit serving and developing the youth of Plymouth?

As we enter our 80th year we are asking ex cadets to get in touch to share any dits (stories) of there time as a cadet and what they’re up to now. We will feature these on our social media along with the work of our current generation.

Interested in telling us your Golden Hind story? Feel free to message us!

Here’s to another 80 years!

Torpoint Band Visit

Torpoint Band Visit

Fantastic to have Torpoint Sea Cadets Band visit us at the unit this evening. The band performed a number of pieces brilliantly before ASO Band, Lt Tanner RN, gave a short presentation to the cadets about the musical opportunities available in the Corps.

Cadets form the unit are welcome to attend band training with Torpoint unit and can express interest through our unit! This is a fantastic opportunity that is worth getting involved in!

Junior Sea Cadet Living in the field taster!

Junior Sea Cadet Living in the field taster!

Yesterday evening we had our unit divisions followed by group tasks for our seniors and cooking in the field for our Junior Sea Cadets.

Our Junior Sea Cadets were given a taster of living in the field by putting up a Bivvi and making drinks such as hot chocolate, the same way our Royal Marines Cadets do when in the field, to help them closer to completing their Outdoor (green) modules.

Our Sea Cadets had a session on leadership and teamwork doing activities to build on their teamwork and communication skills to help them further in their syllabus and the rest of their cadet experience.
