ROBERTSON TRUST GRANT

ROBERTSON TRUST GRANT

We're delighted to announce that Janice Moye of our Unit Management Committee has managed to gain a grant of £2000 from the Robertson Trust to help us cover our running costs. The money will help us pay for the essential but unglamorous things like electricity, insurance, paper, ink etc. Thank you to everyone involved in making this grant possible.

Janice is stepping down from the role, but we'd like to hear from anyone who might be interested in taking this vital task on in the coming months.

MALLAIG LIFEBOAT VISIT

MALLAIG LIFEBOAT VISIT

We were delighted when we were able to visit the Mallaig lifeboat station. Coxswain Michael Ian and crew gave the cadets and staff a fantastic tour of the facilities. The cadets were also able to try out some of the kit. We were really impressed by the courage and skills that the crew have and by the quality of the equipment that they have to work with. We'd like to extend our grateful thanks and best wishes to everyone (crew and supporters) at the Mallaig Lifeboat Station.

UNIT FILMED BY GERMAN TV COMPANY

A German television company which was recently making a documentary about the Caledonian Canal asked if they could come and film us. "We don't have Sea Cadets in Germany and it will be quite challenging for our audience to see young people in military uniforms.", said programme Producer Michael Mcglinn. "Able Cadet Chloe Elder said, "The film crew were really nice and quickly put us at ease. It's a real shame that they don't have Sea Cadets in Germany. They don't know what they're missing!"
