The units Halloween party was a great success with any additional monies raised going to the Royalist replacement fund. After the purchases for the various games were taken out- the unit raised £75 towards the £5000 that the district has been asked to raise, BZ to all those who attended

National Combined Regatta

National Combined Regatta

The unit sent three teams to the National boating finals in London on the 28/29 September and boy did they do us proud!! Our Powerboat handling team came second in the country for the second year in a row, our Yole pair, despite having got into the Yole for the first time earlier this year, showed their class in also finishing second. The Girls T500 team, improved on last years 6th place with a great 4th place and they were very unlucky not to medal following a few incidents with their boat equipment. BZ to everyone who traveled down and took part.

6 of the uits cadets and two of the staff have spent a week of September abourd the Sea Cadet power vessel TS John Jerwood. The cadets got the chance to go to sea as the crew of the ship learning skills such as navigation, ropework, engineering and cooking.

The Captain of the Sea Cadets, Captain Mark Windsor RN visited the unit on September 4th to have a look what we get upto and also to present our efficiancy award for 2012. We gained a burgee, the highest award for efficiency given to a unit. BZ to all that helped in the build up to the night.

Jubilee Cup

Jubilee Cup

The units cadets entered into a sporting competition with all of the local Youth United members in early September. The day was a great success and we are looking to do more of this type of event together to give the young people from all of the organisations the chance to learn new skills they may not otherwise get to do.
