South West Area Advancement Board 10-12th...

On the 10-12th February 2017 Able Cadet Aiden Jayne attended the South West Area Advancement Board along with 7 other candidates. On the board the cadets are test in a number of area's such as Drill, Teaching (peer educator), Leadership and it all ends with an interview with the Area Training Officer, LT CDR (SCC) M. Styles RNR.

Leading up to this any cadet at the rank of Able Cadet wishing to advance to Leading Cadet have to complete 48 modules from the Leadership Development Programme (LDP), pass the Basic Peer Educator Course and complete a journal on the 48 modules they completed in their LDP.

We are pleased to say that Able Cadet Jayne passed his board!!

Presentation Evening 2016

On Monday 16th January, we had our annual presentation evening where we celebrate all the achievements from the previous year. Along with many qualifications and advancements we give award trophy's for certain categories such as Leadership, best dressed, best newcomer, best RMCD Cadet etc. These are chosen by the Staff and it gives us great pride when we see the cadets receive these trophy's unexpectedly.

This year we were honoured to have many VIP's attend. Our thanks to Colonel Mike Bennett OBE, Deputy Lord Lieutenant for Gloucestershire, The Rt. Hon. Countess Bathurst and all parents, friends and guests who attended the evening.

2016 was a fantastic year with 2 cadets reaching the rank of Petty Officer Cadet and Cadet Sargent the highest rank a cadet can reach, 1 cadet achieving their Cadet Drill Instructors and hundreds of Cadet Training Advancement modules obtained and plenty of offshore and onshore qualifications.

We also helped out within the community by helping Cheltenham Animal Shelter's opening day, by assisting with parking cars for them.
