Gloucester Tall Ships Festival 2017 - SUCCESS!

Bank holiday weekend in May saw Gloucester's  biggest Tall Ship festival take place. Gloucester Sea Cadets were out in full force with Cadets out in the Yole trying out some Sliding Seat Rowing - most for the very first time and we also had Cadets out in the Trinity 500 practicing their sculling skills.

Cheltenham Sea Cadets joined us and helped with our Seamanship stand by teaching notes and creating key rings to sell to the public. They also erected a gin where the Ships Bell hung and every half an hour the time was truck on the bell, the same way it was done many years ago in the Royal Navy.

Huge thanks to South-West Area Sea Cadets who let us use all the Marketing Kit as you can see pictured, in addition to this we also borrowed the Area's Marine Engineering Pod and the Area's Rowing Machines where Leading Cadets Robert managed to row 500 meters in 1 minute 32 seconds.

The weekend was huge success spreading the awareness and great work that the Sea Cadets do!
