2014 - Remembrance Sunday

2014 - Remembrance Sunday

This years Remembrance parade marks 100 years of the start of World War 1.

It was another triumph for Chiswick unit as there were 20 cadets with 8 members of staff in the parade. An even better turnout than previous years and an almost perfect squad. All Cadets were looking sharp in their 1's uniforms and the New entries had cleaned and pressed their 4's.

We were joined again by the Chiswick ACF who provided their drummers to keep the parade in step.

Cadet Mash-Mclellan read the poem "In Flander's Fields" and CPO (SCC) Peach was the parade commander.

ChiswickBuzz attended and produced a lovely video of the day

The Civic Service was attended by The Lord Mayor of Westminster Councillor Audrey Lewis and Councillors of the City of Westminster who the Cadet were lucky to meet.

2014 - The Oxford Cambridge Boat Race

2014 - The Oxford Cambridge Boat Race

This years Boat Race was held late afternoon on Sunday 6th of April. The weather was miserable but it did not stop Chiswick Cadets from fundraising at the pier house.

With the new A/V setup in the hall visitors could hide from the rain and watch the race comfortably. All of the regular stalls were on offer to visitors with our Tombola attracting the most interest.

Despite the rain our Cadets still managed to raise £159 for their unit, Well done to them.

Return of the Champ

Return of the Champ

Near the end of the year our long serving Cheverton Champ went away for a three week service. The boat was in some need of repairs and a face lift. This year HQ have been replacing the old 2 cylinder Lister engines that have been fitted into Sea cadet Champs and giving them new Yanmar engines. The result gives the boat a lot more power and reliability.
