5 cadets from Chiswick unit managed to qualify for the NJIRC, the world’s largest indoor rowing competition for Juniors where 2,500+ young people between ages of 11 & 18 enter. Many of the competitors come from youth rowing clubs making winning the competition very tough.

Congratulations to all those who attended and hopefully we get to return next year.

2015 - New OiC and new divisions

January 7th 2015 is officially the first day that SLt (SCC) Gaynor Pearce RNR steps down as the Commanding officer. This marks the end of her 9 years of service in charge of T.S. Stork - Chiswick SCC. She leaves the unit to take a position in the Western District team as ADO Competitions and will be taking care of the units in the Northern section of Western District. We wish her all the very best with this new challenge.

Her successor PO (SCC) Chris Horton has been part of Chiswick unit almost as long, being one of the founding Cadets.

Chiswick unit has also become so big there was a need to add a third division for the Cadets. This brings new opportunities for our Cadets to take on different roles within the unit such as Duty Senior rate or Quartermaster.

The Cadets named their divisions after three of the serving RN Type 45 destroyers. They are

2015 - District 5-a-side Football

The annual 5-a-side tournament was held at RAF Northolt again this year and Chiswick unit was able to field 3 teams.

Our senior boys took two from Wandsworth unit to make a combined team and won all their games to finish first. They will represent Western District at Area the following weekend. NEC Bond-Vaughan also won the Senior boys Player of the Tournament trophy for brilliant sportsmanship and teamwork.

Our junior girls played extremely well despite having only 4 players. They finished a respectable 2nd overall.

The junior boys won all their games in their bracket and managed to beat Wandsworth to finish 1st.

Well done to all that attended and good luck to those going to area.

2014 - Remembrance Sunday

2014 - Remembrance Sunday

This years Remembrance parade marks 100 years of the start of World War 1.

It was another triumph for Chiswick unit as there were 20 cadets with 8 members of staff in the parade. An even better turnout than previous years and an almost perfect squad. All Cadets were looking sharp in their 1's uniforms and the New entries had cleaned and pressed their 4's.

We were joined again by the Chiswick ACF who provided their drummers to keep the parade in step.

Cadet Mash-Mclellan read the poem "In Flander's Fields" and CPO (SCC) Peach was the parade commander.

ChiswickBuzz attended and produced a lovely video of the day
