Officer Promotion

A big congratulations to Acting Sub-Lieutenant (SCC) Horton who travelled to HMS Calendonia in Scotland to undertake phase 2 of Officer Selection. It was a tough weekend of Leadership tasks, group discussion, presentations and finished with an interview but our CO managed to pass and now begins the tough job of phase 3.

2015 - Remembrance Sunday

2015 - Remembrance Sunday

This years Remembrance Sunday was extra special. The Chiswick branch of the Royal British Legion kindly donated a unit standard for us to carry at the front of the parade.

There were 17 cadets with 5 members of staff in the parade, another great turnout and an almost perfect squad. All Cadets were looking sharp in their 1's uniforms and the New entries had cleaned and pressed their 4's.

The Chiswick Army Cadets attended with a full band whose drummers helped to keep the parade in step and played several tunes afterwards.

Able Cadet Baker read the poem "In Flander's Fields" and once again CPO (SCC) Peach was the Parade Commander.

There is a video of the day available on Chiswick buzz's website here

The Annual General Meeting was held earlier than normal this year.

This is an evening for parents and supporters to attend and hear about what the unit has achieved over the year. We also have our Unit Management Committee members re-stand for their positions and for any additional people to put themselves forward.

2015 - Jack Petchey award ceremony

2015 - Jack Petchey award ceremony

Jack Petchey award ceremony which four from our unit attended.

The Achievement Award Scheme aims to enable schools, colleges and youth organisations to recognise, reward and celebrate the achievements of their young people. Jack Petchey wants young people to raise their aspirations, believe in themselves and make a contribution to their society.

Achievement Awards are designed to recognise a wide range of achievement. It is not just about being clever, or gifted, but about putting the effort in and doing your best. The scheme works well because young people themselves are involved in nominating and selecting the winners.

This year we nominated Cadet 1st class Collins, Cadet Barnard, and APO Bales
