CalMac Community Fund

CalMac Community Fund

We are delighted to announce that Campbeltown Sea Cadets have been awarded £2,000 from the CalMac Community Fund. Like many rural areas, opportunities and resources are often limited, making it harder for young people to achieve their full potential. With this funding, we will be able to send cadets on offshore voyages, where they will spend a week at sea with cadets from around the country, learning navigation, seamanship, stewarding but most importantly to work together as a team. Cadets who have been given these opportunities often return, not only with newfound skills but with increased confidence and enthusiasm. Sometimes it only takes one experience to open other possibilities. Thank you CalMac Ferries for your support.

A huge thank you to the staff at Campbeltown Police Station for organising such an excellent tour for our cadets. Cadets especially enjoyed all the hands-on activities!

Fond farewell

Fond farewell

Perfect BBQ weather this evening with music by DJ Red Sparrow! Thanks Connor! 👏 We say a fond farewell to Yvonne who has been with the cadets since the age of 10. Yvonne will be studying Psychology in Paisley. We also say goodbye to Shona, who will be heading to St Andrews to study Marine Biology. Also heading to St Andrews, to study medicine, is Suen Yee, who like Yvonne, started with the cadets when she was 10. Finally, James who will be studying Social Sciences at Argyll college and joining us as an Adult Instructor (Yipee!). We wish you all the best with your studies, pop in to see us when you are back in sunny Campbeltown!

National Band Competition

Well done AC Caius & OC Beth for taking part in the National Band Competiton at the Tower of London. You should get a medal just for the bus journey there and back, not including the 5 hours journey to catch the bus!!!
