Well done to the Junior Cadets from Burton Unit who joined in the District Junior Training Day today! They were a credit to themselves and the Unit. Lots of fun, learning, activities and modules awarded towards their badges and promotions 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Everest Challenge

Everest Challenge

A HUGE well done to Junior Cadet Ollie who has completed The Sea Cadet Everest Challenge of walking 8848m in altitude in less than 12 weeks!! A HUGE effort, climbing the equivalent of a HUGE mountain, and today he got a HUGE medal for his efforts - fantastic! And half of his fundraising total comes to the Unit - wonder what he'd like us to buy?!

Burgee

Burgee

I’m pleased to announce Burton Sea Cadets received a Burgee for 2020 even though it has been a very difficult year.

Hopefully we can all get back to training soon and meet up again once the COVID figures start to drop and we go into a lower Tier.

Until then the training officer and staff are currently preparing more virtual lessons, keep checking on here and your cadet emails for further info.

Thank you to all staff, committee and cadets.

Remembrance

8 November 2020

On Wednesday the Junior Cadets and Staff painted Remembrance stones. Today they were placed in the Memorial Garden in Swadlincote. Pictured with Glyn Jackson from the Royal British Legion. Well done Juniors and thank you to CI Grigg for organising. With no formal parade to attend this year, the cadets have been asked to observe the 2 minute silence at home.

WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.

Foundation Safety and Rescue Training

Foundation Safety and Rescue Training

This weekend saw the second batch of cadets and staff complete their Foundation Safety and Rescue Training (FSRT) certification, following on from their 2 Star course. Another challenging but fun weekend! Our thanks again go to PO Priestland for organising it and to PO Goulding for leading it. Instructors came from 3 different Units and we are very grateful to them all. Well done everyone!
