New Sea Cadet Building - Handing over of the...

On Saturday 26th April 2014, Mrs Clarke and family, Bideford Town Mayor and Madam Mayoress, Bideford Town Councillors, Members of The Bideford Bridge Trust, Staff and Cadets of Bideford & District Sea Cadets celebrated the completion of the new unit building with a ceremony to formally hand over the keys.  Following refreshments, all present were able to look around the new unit and see our plans for Phase 2, the essential building of a new boat repair deck which would complete the outside area surrounding this building.

Without the vision of the late Mr Steve Clarke this building would not exist. Both as a local business person and Town & District Councillor, Mr Clarke had worked tirelessly over the past 7 to 8 years furthering our cause in helping us achieve a Fit-For-Purpose building for our young people and also for the wider community of our town.

Today you can see the result of his dedication and enthusiasm for such projects especially when it concerned the youth of our area and Bideford Sea Cadets thank him for this.

Many thanks also go to all our benefactors including local businesses and trades persons in helping us to achieve this magnificent building, no matter how large or small their contributions were.

In particular we would like to thank Mrs Clarke and family for their continuing support of this project.

Please see the Gallery section for further photographs, some of which have kindly been donated by Graham Hobbs Photography.

Asda Bideford Donation

Asda Bideford Donation

Each month three local nominated charities are chosen to receive Asda's monthly charity donation.  Shoppers in store are given a token to vote for the charity they would like to receive the cheque.  During the month of December 2012, Bideford Sea Cadets were chosen to take part and won with the most votes.  At the end of January, Cadet T Luker and Able Cadet J Luker on behalf of Bideford Sea Cadets, were presented with a cheque for £200.45.  The charity relies on donations to maintain the general running of the unit and subsidises the cost to send cadets on trips and courses.  Many thanks both to our supporters in the local community and Asda Bideford.
