Trafalgar Dinner

Trafalgar Dinner

Bideford and District Sea Cadet staff, Bideford town dignitaries and invited guests were treated to a fantastic meal for Trafalgar Day, courtesy of the cadets, assisted by some staff members.  From drinks and hors d'oeuvres on arrival to a three course meal, including chocolate ships for dessert, the evening included a gripping speech by Colin Darch, who survived capture by Somali pirates.

Summer 2014

Summer 2014

Bideford and District Sea Cadets have had a busy summer this year with two trips away.

The first was to Pier Cellars, near Plymouth.  This is a Royal Naval training centre, and the cadets enjoyed a week here, taking part in on-shore and off-shore activities, including cliff jumping (a supervised activity!), mountain biking, walking and a trip to Plymouth on the ferry.

The second was to the Sea Cadet Training Centre in Weymouth, where the cadets spent a week participating in either sailing, power boating or windsurfing, and gained qualifications at the end.  They also took full advantage of the facilities at the centre and became proficient at the climbing wall!
