Unit AGM

Unit AGM

Thursday the 10th of September saw our Annual General Meeting being held at the Unit.  All went well with our present Chairman being voted back in.  We have some new committee members that we look forward to welcoming in at one of our parade nights soon.

Winter Hours

From the 1st October we will be moving into our winter hours schedule.  This means that it's Seniors only on Tuesday nights from 1845-2100 and on Fridays we will have Juniors and Seniors together from 1830-2030.  Winter dress means woolly jumpers every parade night.  As the weather (and the Unit) cools down please remember to dress accordingly.  Days like the photos below will soon be back, we hope.

Unit Visit to Historic Naval Dockyard, Portsmouth

The weekend of the 21st September saw cadets and volunteers from our Unit Visit the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth.

The cadets and volunteers started their weekend by staying onboard HMS Bristol, which proved quite a challenge from the off just trying to get luggage on board!  All quiet for the night and up bright and early for a full day at the Historic Dockyard.  Visiting HMS Victory we paid our respects to Admiral Lord Nelson and had great fun exploring HMS Warrior.

Action Stations was  non-stop fun with laser quests and simulators.  We all really enjoyed that.  We did manage to grab an hour or so at Gunwharf outlet centre for a bit of shopping too.

Sunday saw us doing "clean ship" before heading to the Royal Marines Museum before our drive back to Devon.

A great weekend was had by all and we are looking forward to our next Unit weekend away.

The 14th July saw TS Hermes open it doors to attract new members.  We managed to go boating but the weather was not as kind as it has been of late!

Tiverton Girls Represent Devon District At Area...

On Saturday 11th July Rhian, Victoria, Caitlin, Shannon, Rachel and honorary girl Sam set off to Bristol for a fun filled day.  Leaving at 0700 hours they made it to Bristol and set up camp in the District Tented area.  Our girls faced tough competition in the first two of their races but unfortunately due to illness and injury they had to pull out before their final heat.  As always we are immensely proud of our girls (and Sam) for making it this far.  Thanks to CI Pogson for driving and APO Chubb and PO Challenger for assiting.
