TS Gurkha Portsmouth Trip

TS Gurkha Portsmouth Trip

23rd March- 25th March 2018

This weekend Stratford upon Avon Sea Cadets travelled to Portsmouth to stay aboard HMS Bristol, a Type 82 destroyer currently used as a training & accomadation ship at HMS Excellent.

The stay on HMS Bristol was an amazing experience in itself as the cadets got to explore the ship and have a taste of what it would have been like to live and work aboard. For Mr Carvill, one of our trustees it brought back many memories being one of the ships he served on during his time in the Royal Navy.

Whilst in Portsmouth the cadets, staff and trustees visited the Historic Dockyard where they explored HMS Victory, HMS Warrior, HMS Alliance, HMS M.33 and HMS Mary Rose. They then went on a guided boat tour of the harbour past many of the serving ships currently in port including the magnificent HMS Queen Elizabeth.
