National Combined Regatta - London Excel 2025

Early last night with only 12 hours until the sea cadets were due to depart Stonehaven we got the devastating news that the regatta this weekend in London is cancelled.

There are no words to say how disappointed we are for our cadets - 4 rowing crews and 2 kayakers who have shown incredible commitment and dedication, their determination to perform was nothing short of inspiring.

They have been training every night since the area regatta in July and for the last 2 weeks they have been out training at 6am and 6pm.

When we finished our last training on Wednesday night spirits were so high and the cadets were ready to represent Northern Area and show case what TS Carron can do.

This decision, although won’t have been taken lightly leaves us as a unit bitterly disappointed and heartbroken for our cadets however the teamwork we have shown over the last few weeks will carry us forward.

🏆🌊 GOLD ACROSS THE BOARD! 🌊🏆

Huge congratulations to all FOUR of our rowing crews who brought home GOLD at today’s Area Regatta! 💪⛵

Every single crew gave it their all, showing outstanding determination, teamwork, and RESILIENCE on the water. Your hard work and dedication paid off – what an incredible achievement to have a clean sweep of first-place finishes! 🥇🥇🥇🥇

We couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of you. Bring on nationals in August — back to training for the time being!💥👏

District Rowing Regatta

District Rowing Regatta

What an incredible day for Stonehaven Cadets!

Yesterday’s District Rowing Regatta was nothing short of spectacular, and our cadets did us proud beyond words. Both our Sea Cadets and Royal Marine Cadets went head-to-head with teams from Peterhead, Aberdeen, and Bridge of Don—and came out shining.

After weeks of intense training and dedication, their hard work truly paid off. Stonehaven dominated the water, bringing home GOLD in:

Juniors (the most thrilling race of the day—our rising stars absolutely smashed it!)

A heartfelt thank you to all the parents, staff, and volunteers who continually give up their valuable time to support the extra training nights—your encouragement made a real difference. Big thanks also to the amazing P&SA team for organising the bakes and drinks, and an extra loud cheer for George, Doreen, and Debs for serving up those mouth-watering burgers!

We’ll take a well-earned break this week, then it’s full steam ahead for the Area Competition on July 19th. Let’s keep the momentum going.

It sounds like some of our cadets enjoyed fantastic weather while working towards their sailing qualifications at Port Edgar Boat Station! ⛵☀️👏
