Free event celebrating Armed Forces Day with numerous organisations and local businesses such as SSAFA, St Helens PALS, Royal Marine Association, Former Forces Support, Royal British Legion, NHS Bridgewater, NHS Pennine Care Military Veteran Service, Health Improvement Team , AIM Amputation, Inspiration and Motivation with Andy Reid and Stephen Cruse, Territorial Army, St Helens Veteran Group (AddAction), Executive Solutions plus many more.
Family entertainment featuring the UC Crew, Face Painting, Eleanor Nelly, Art & Craft Stalls, Just Joy Events, Secret Garden Studios, Moore Fun Factory, Sweet stalls plus many more.
Cadet and dance displays during the day; refreshments available.

St Helens Sea Cadets awarded Burgee for 2014 - 15

After the RNP Inspection for 2014, St Helens Sea Cadets was awarded the Burgee Flag for 2015. This flag represents the upper strata of the Sea Cadet Corps and signals the major improvements/achievements the ships company have completed in 2014-2015. We thank all the Committee, Staff & Cadets that have made 2014-2015 a truly successful year for Scimitar.

St Helens celebrate the 70th Anniversary of VE Day

On Friday 8th May 2015, St Helens celebrated VE Day 70th Anniversary by lighting a Beacon at Taylor Park. St Helen Sea Cadets were represented at this event by AC Scott Bull. "Victory in Europe Day", generally known as VE Day or V Day was the public holiday celebrated on 8 May 1945 (7 May in Commonwealth Realms) to mark the Formal Acceptance by the Allies of World War 2 of Nazi Germany's unconditional surrender of it's Armed Forces.

On 8-10th May 2015, St Helens Royal Marine Cadets completed their annual CATSEA Assessment at Nesscliffe Army Camp, Shrewsbury. This weekend is an overall assessment of the Detachment in which all aspects are covered such as Field Craft, Weapons Handling, Map Reading, Seamanship, First Aid, Team Work & Leader (and so on). St Helens Royal Marine Cadet Detachment was awarded a Satisfactory Grade for 2015. Well Done to all involved.
