RM Cadets are off to Nationals!

Stafford and Rugeley RMC entered the Area drill competition for the first time in our history in March and only went on to win it!

the cadets started practicing a few weeks before the competition and although the routine was simple, they did enough to take home the gold!

Cadets earn top marks

4 Cadet Lance Corporals travelled to Altcar DTE to attend their Cadet Corporals board in late Feb and came away with the top honours of the weekend. All 4 of the cadets from our unit came to top of the board with one of our own achieving top scores on the board! always proud to witness such a special promotion!

Annual awards night 2016

our annual awards night was hosted at Perkins Social club this year and was attended by over 100 cadets, parents, supporters and North West Area Officer, Cdr Russ RN.

The night was held in celebration of the achievements of all of the cadets in the unit over the past 12 months, which I must say, there are many!

Awards were given for best Senior ranked cadet, best Junior ranked Cadet, best Royal Marines Cadet, Best Sea Cadet, Most promising cadet, Best attendance, best uniform standards and certificates to appreciate the cadets' participation in sporting events, such as the national combined regatta (where 3 cadets took part in the windsurfing races and 1 in the pico class races)

it was a pleasure to host all of the families and cadets alongside the staff and UMC Chairman and I hope that 2017's night celebrates even more!

T.S. SUPERB remembers

As all Cadet forces, regular forces and members of the public do, the Ships company were out on parade for remembrance day, this year in Stafford.

As we draw cadets from Rugeley, Cannock and Stafford equally, we alternate between our namesake towns for national parades. The parade in Safford is always well attended and as usual, the cadets and staff were immaculately turned out, and with over 40 people out on parade, it was one of the best turn-outs we have had in a while!

Long service rewarded

It was an honour to see our former commanding officer LtCdr (SCC) G Townsend RNR presented with his third clasp to his Cadet Forces Medal, recognising over 30 years of service in the Corps.

At our annual awards night, Cdr Russ RN presented our former CO with his clasp in front of over 100 cadets, parents and supporters. it is always nice to see someone's dedication being recognised by both the Sea Cadet Corps and the people who's lives they influence.

Well done from all at T.S. Superb
