As part of our recruitment drive, staff visited a local High School, taking the recruitment trailer and doing talks in assemblies. We invited pupils to an Open evening at our Unit a week later which was very succesful.

We were honoured to invite The Bishop Right Reverend Richard Moth- Bishop of the Forces to our Unit whilst he was visiting the area. It was his first ever visit to a Sea Cadet Unit and we think he got a good impression of Sea Cadets !

Our Girls did well at the Area Netball Competition finishing in Third Place. Our Girls were much shorter and younger than the Huyton and Wallasey teams who came 1st and 2nd but certainly gave them a run for their money and show great potential for the future.
Southport Cadets carried on their swimming success in the North West Area Competition where they helped Liverpool District achieve 1st place with a massive 194 points, 41 points ahead of 2nd placed Cumbria and won

We are proud to say that this year we have won the Senior Boys Trophy for the 2nd year running, regained the Junior Boys Trophy after losing the title to Sefton last year, won the Junior Girls Trophy for the first time since 2007 and awarded the Overall Trophy for the 2nd year on the run .
In all, we brought home a total of 26 medals 19 GOLD - 4 SILVER - 3 BRONZE
