Easter Eggs for Alder Hey Children's Hospital

One of our Juniors suggested we collect Easter Eggs for the children in Alder Hey Hospital after his younger brother had been a patient there.

Our amazing Cadets and Juniors are pictured here with the huge amount of eggs we collected, which our Juniors presented to the nurses and children at Alder Hey on Maundy Thursday.

Winners of the 2017 Area Colour Party competition

Our Colour Party were winners at this year's North West Area Drill Competition, a fantastic result considering three of our cadets have just joined the team in the weeks running up to the event and the sfierce competition from the 5 other teams who took part

They are all looking forward to the National event at the end of April at HMS Raleigh

Fundraising in the local Community

We were presented with a cheque from our local supermarket for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal 2016 when we had a bag pack there recently.

The article in our local news resported "PO(SCC) Tim Petford and the Sea Cadets would like to say a huge thank you to the ASDA Southport customers for their donations to the Royal British Legion Poppy collection they collected a staggering £3,954.81"

Catering and Stewarding specialisations

Our cadets have been doing the catering and stewarding specialisations each Tuesday evening.

We have covered basic hygiene, safety in the galley, tasting sessions and cake and sandwich making, which made them very popular when they handed out the finished articles, as well as napkin folding.

The next thing we will be learning will be some stewarding skills.
