Well done to those who braved the cold today and ran the Santa Dash in the name of our unit. We are very proud of them all and must say that they look rather dashing in their Santa outfits...

Remembrance Day Parade- 11/11/2012

Remembrance Day Parade- 11/11/2012

On this day we remember those who gave their tomorrow to protect our today; to signify their sacrifice our unit gathered at the Speke Royal British Legion and led a parade of war veterans to the All Saints Church, Speke, where a short service was carried out. After marching back to the Legion the cadets were briefly inspected and OC Bateman-Lee was named as the best cadet on parade, given for her high standards of dress and drill. After all their hard work the cadets were rewarded with free food and drink courtesy of the Legion, and it was revealed that Lt (SCC) K Rodgers RNR (whom has been our units commanding officer for over 10 years) would be stepping down from his position, much to the shock and sadness of the cadets. We thank Lt (SCC) K Rodgers RNR for his dedication and skill in running our unit and wish him the very best of luck in his future endeavours.

Annual France Trip- 27/10/2012

Annual France Trip- 27/10/2012

This October half term 25 of our cadets and members of staff packed their bags and went to the North of France for a week of sightseeing, activities, and learning. Over the course of the week they visited various war memorials, museums, and battle sites in order to gain a better understanding of what happened all those years ago during the D-Day Landings. It wasn't all learning though! They also enjoyed activities such as go-karting, bowling, and playing football on the beaches. All in all it was a fantastic week which was enjoyed by all involved and we look forward to our trip next year!
