Today a group of our junior cadets went on a tour of the Liverpool Maritime Museum. Throughout the day they searched a room for contraband items in a mock drug raid, dressed in traditional African masks and robes, and even took part in a martial arts workshop! As well as being fun this trip taught the cadets learned about different cultures, and also counted towards their community and citizenship module.

A massive thanks to all of the cadets who have given up their time over the past four days raising money bag packing for our unit at M&S Food, Speke. Their hard work is very much appreciated and it paid off as we raised in excess of £2000! This money will be spent keeping our minibus on the road for another year as well as subsidising courses for cadets and buying invaluable training equipment which will allow us not only to teach the cadets a wider variety of subjects within the unit but also give them access to more waterborne activities when the boating season comes about.

As per TS Conway tradition, our cadets and staff laced up their skates and hopped onto our minibus as we went down to Deeside for our annual ice skating trip. The cadets enjoyed over two hours of showing off their ice skating moves (and of course the inevitable slips and falls that followed) and, for those who didn't fancy skating themselves, eating chips and laughing from the side. Of course no trip to Deeside would be complete without the compulsory stop at Mcdonald's on the way back, where the cadets found the perfect finish to their day in the form of Big Macs and Mcflurrys.

Last Saturday we were very excited to host our very first winter ball! After days of preparation our cadets and their parents were treated to a buffet, live entertainment and disco, and a presentation showing everything we've been up to over the year. Overall it was a fantastic night with very positive feedback and we look forward to hosting our next one!
