SPIDER-MAN IS A SEA CADET!

SPIDER-MAN IS A SEA CADET!

Seaham Sea Cadets would like to thank Spider-man for helping us during the official opening of Seaham's new Council Offices on Thursday 26th February 2015. We attended in order to show our support for the town council and to keep an eye out for new recruits amongst the many primary school children that attended. Thanks again Spidey ;-)

VICTORY FOR SEAHAM SEAHAM CADETS IN 2015...

Well done to our piping and drill team (pictured below) who attended the Tyne South District drill competition at the Royal Marine Reserve unit on the River Tyne, on Sunday 1st February 2015. Drill enables our cadets to showcase individual discipline as well as their ability to work as a team. Drill displays are also a way of showing our high standards of dress and behaviour. Having won the piping competition and come 2nd in the drill, the team was awarded a well deserved 1st overall. Here's to many more victories!

OFFSHORE DONATION TO SEAHAM SEA CADETS

OFFSHORE DONATION TO SEAHAM SEA CADETS

Our thanks to ex Seaham Sea Cadet Phil Tinkler, for his offshore fundraising efforts on the ENSCO 120 oil drilling rig currently in the North Sea. Phil and his generous colleagues held a fundraising raffle over Chrismtas and unbeknown to us, Phil put our names forward. We were lucky enough to be one of the names pulled our of the hat and we subsequently received a cheque for £1,000. Phil said he thought of use because he remembered how being a Seaham Sea Cadet helped him shape his future. With this donation, we were able to purchase some adventure training equipment.

As a charity, we are responsible for raising our own funds to ensure our cadets get the very best head start in life though nautical adventure and fun. Every penny counts and if you'd like to raise funds for us, then we'd love to hear from you. You can get in touch using the "contact us" tab above.

SEAHAM SEA CADETS STAND TO ATTENTION FOR AREA...

It was fantastic to welcome the Northern Area Officer, Captain Peter Adams RN (Rtd) to our unit at the beginning of September 2015. There are 68 Sea Cadet units in Scotland, Northern Ireland and North East England which make up the Northern Area, and Captain Adams has managed to visit every single one! We were however the last unit to visit on his list and he brought a cake along to celebrate. We think he was saving the best 'till last!

SEAHAM SEA CADETS FLEET GETS EVEN BIGGER!

SEAHAM SEA CADETS FLEET GETS EVEN BIGGER!

Cadets from Seaham were delighted to launch our new Trinity 500 into Seaham Marina in July 2015. This 5.5 metre rowing boat has capacity for 4 oarsmen and coxswain and can also be powered by an outboard motor for those times when we have a need for a bit of speed! A fine new addition to the growing Seaham fleet.
