OUR CIVIC PATRON PAYS US A VISIT

OUR CIVIC PATRON PAYS US A VISIT

Councillor Jo Clements, The Mayor of Poole, recently visited us at TS Drax to see at first hand the wide variety of onshore training activities undertaken by our cadets on a typical evening.

The Mayor saw knot tying, engineering, drill, meteorology and first aid.

The she was able to successfully practice the Heimlich first aid technique which is performed on a person who is choking.

The Mayor showed great interest in our ongoing proposals to modernise our headquarter facilities, parts of which are eighty-four years old. As part of the discussion our Chair, Lee Hardy, showed her our detailed architect’s model.

Afterwards the Mayor positively reflected:

"I had a very interesting and fun evening at Poole Sea Cadets Parade Evening.

I took part in some of their activities and listened in on the training.

As Patron of Poole Sea Cadets, I am immensely proud and honoured to have been involved in their activities and look forward to visiting again.

The leaders and volunteers at Poole Sea Cadets offer a valuable service to Poole’s community in supporting our young sea cadets and teaching them lifelong skills that they can use in future life experience.

Thank you to all involved in making this possible for the young people of Poole."

CHRISTMAS SPIRIT IN POOLE

CHRISTMAS SPIRIT IN POOLE

Our talented Juniors have been getting into the Christmas spirit over the last couple of weeks, making Christmas trees, Christmas treats, Christmas tree toppers and snow globes. I’m sure you can all guess which was the most popular!!!

IN THE VANGUARD OF REMEMBRANCE

IN THE VANGUARD OF REMEMBRANCE

Well done to all members of TS Drax who supported the Remembrance Parades around Dorset recently. Both cadets and volunteers were a credit, in sometimes difficult conditions, to the Unit and the Corps. In particular our band was in the vanguard leading the parades and as a result has featured in a number of publications as shown. The local community and particularly the veterans were extremely grateful. BZ to all.
