Well done to Poole Unit for your involvement at Harry Paye Day on Poole Quay. All band members dressed as pirates led the parade through the Old Town and Poole Quay and later on gave another performance outside The Lord Nelson. A big thank you to all the staff and parents who turned out to help plus our Juniors who helped run the stall. Over £300 raised. Fantastic!!

Congratularions to A/C Taylor and O/C Sharland who achieved a 2nd and 3rd at the Padlesport competion in Sailisbury. Their combined scores meant that the unit cam away with the Junior Boys Trophy

Poole Unit Band had the pleasure of playing to all invited guests at The Mayor of Poole, Cllr Carol Evans Garden Party at Upton House. The weather was so bad that the event had to be moved inside the house but the band looked splendid stood on the grand staircase.

Wessex Power Handling Winners 2012

Poole Unit's Team won the District Boat Handling (Power) Competion. The team consisting of A/C Walsh, L/C Saunders & A/C Taylor attended the district finals on Sunday 6th May at Shamrock Quays in Southampton. The team are now busy training for area under the instruction of thier team manager PPO Cobley.

Navy Board Cadet for Southern Area

Congratulations to Petty Officer Cadet Reece Oliver who has recently become the Navy Board Cadet for Southern Area during 2012. This is a very prestigious award which is given to the best cadet in each Area and he will be one of only six cadets in the whole of the UK. His duties will be to accompany a Navy Board member/very senior Royal Navy Officer to such events as Royal occasions, opening ceremonies, ships visits, formal parades, presentations and awards, recruiting events and cocktail parties.  During these events, Reece’s role will be to brief the senior officers on issues relating to the Southern Area.

The award is well deserved and all at Poole Unit wish him all the best for the coming year
