REMEMBRANCE PARADE 2014

REMEMBRANCE PARADE 2014

As a uniformed youth organisation we take pride in taking part in Armistice events.  Every year we participate in the City of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne parade teaming up with many other organisations as well as the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force.

November 2014 was no different to any other year and as always, it was a very humble service.  Once again our colleagues at Newburn Sea Cadet Unit paraded with us.

SEA CADETS RAISE MONEY FOR ROYAL BRITISH LEGION...

SEA CADETS RAISE MONEY FOR ROYAL BRITISH LEGION...

Kind-hearted teenagers and children have been really busy recently collecting for the Royal British Legion (RBL) Poppy Appeal.  We offered to help our local branch of the RBL.  We were asked to collect at St James Stadium on the weekend of the 1st November 2014.

With only 2 hours to collect at the stadium before the game against Liverpool started we did not wait around and started in ernest.  A big thank you goes to our friends at Newburn Sea Cadets who also helped collect with us.  After a few days of waiting we were given the total raised. A fantastic £1,320.43 a truly amazing figure.

Commanding Officer, Petty Officer (SCC) Martin Galloway said: "we are over the moon with this amazing total.  This is the first time we have collected for the RBL Newcastle Central Branch and we look forward to supporting them again in the future."

WORLD WAR 1 COMMEMORATIVE CONCERT

Two of our cadets as well as Acting Petty Officer (SCC) Andrew Cain attended the Commemorative Concert on Saturday 27th September at North Shields Methodist Church.  They were also there with our neighbours from Wallsend and North Shields Sea Cadets.  The cadets really enjoyed the evening and as always, were happy to help out.
