Drill & Piping Competition

Drill & Piping Competition

Today Cadet Toma attended the Eastern Area Sea Cadets Drill & Piping Competition at Newark Showground representing Notts & Derby District Sea Cadets in the Individual Piping category.

Whilst we didn't win, Cadet Toma scored admirably high against cadets from 10 other districts in the area (over 20 individual entries) showing both courage and commitment to the corps and the unit.

Qualifying at District and representing the unit at Area level (one below National) is an amazing achievement, particular for such a new cadet. I am an extremely proud CO, and I know we as a unit can build on this success next year.

Special thanks to PO Bradshaw for acting as Team Manager.

Bravo Zulu (naval speak for Well Done)

MAYOR OF DERBY VISITS TS KENYA

The Mayor of Derby visited the Sea Cadets at TS Kenya to award their Pennant. The award was received by the OiC PO(SCC) Carl Hurst on behalf of the ship's company. It was also a proud evening for families of three cadets as they gained their promotions, which included two cadets who are now officially enrolled in the ship's company and a Royal Marines Cadet who successfully passed his promotions board to MC1. Several certificates were also handed to those cadets who passed their swimming test and lots of good conduct stripes were also awarded.
