Worshipful Company Dinner

Worshipful Company Dinner

Croydon cadets attended the Worshipful Company of Framework Knitters annual gala dinner, along with Commanding Officer Jackie Turner and Management Committee Chair Chris Hartwell. Cadets support our affiliated livery company on the evening, forming a guard of honour for guests at the event. This helps cadets with self discipline and provides an opportunity to engage with and meet influential people, helping their self confidence and raising awareness of Sea Cadets. It was a very enjoyable evening.

We will be holding our Annual General Meeting on 15 October 2025 at 1945 at our unit in Mitcham Road. All parents, guardians and carers are encouraged to attend. This is an opportunity to hear from our management team about achievements last year and our plans for the year ahead.

A highlight will be the presentation of the League of Mercy medal (a prestigious national award for volunteering) to Mervin Sharp vice chair of our management committee.

Croydon Sea Cadets was awarded a Burgee in 2024, a prestigious honour recognising outstanding performance, dedication, and growth within the Corps. The Burgee is an accolade given annually and highlights the exceptional commitment of cadets and staff to development, training and community engagement.

This achievement reflects Croydon Sea Cadets' ongoing excellence in delivering high-quality youth maritime experiences, fostering skills, teamwork, and citizenship. The Burgee award is not only a mark of distinction but also a testament to the unit's vibrant and expanding membership, demonstrating their success in attracting and inspiring new cadets and volunteers.

The unit looks forward to continuing its mission of empowering young people through naval traditions, leadership opportunities, and adventure activities, while maintaining the high standards that have earned them this notable recognition.
