Cowes Sea Cadets and The Royal Visit

2012 is proving to be a very exciting and memorable year for the Sea Cadet Units on the Island. In addition to Cowes Unit celebrating its 90th anniversary and building their new Headquarters, Cowes Sea Cadets with support from  Ryde Sea Cadets, who are also celebrating their 50th anniversary are looking forward to welcoming HM The Queen to Cowes next Wednesday 25th July. 

 

Six cadets together with Lt (SCC) Jacquelyn de Bruyne RNR, Officer in Charge ofCowesSea Cadets, have the honour of being aboard MY Leander as she sails intoCoweswith the Royal party.   

 

Four Sea Cadets will then perform the traditional naval welcome by piping The Side as Her Majesty disembarks MY Leander.  Cadets are involved throughout Her Majesty’s visit and in particular TS Osborne Marching Band who will be performing for Her Majesty at Cowes Yacht Haven.
