After 5 years of hard work, Chief Petty officer (SCC) David Rawlinson stood down as Commanding Officer of Birmingham Sherbourne on 31st December 2015. Chief Rawlinson has taken TS Sherbourne from strength to strength, maintaining the 19 years unbroken record of the highest honour of the SCC, a Burgee, for all his 5 years in office.
It has not been easy, Chief Rawlinson has lived and breathed Sea Cadets for all his term and given himself completely for the good of the young people that have come, gone and still remain at TS Sherbourne. Chief Rawlinson will now have more time to dedicate to himself and his family as well as developing a wider roll within the Mercia District and continuing as an instructor for Canoeing, Seamanship and putting his recently achieved Dinghy Instructors qualification to good use in the existing boats and the new RS Quest too.
Chief Rawlinson will be joining the Royal Fleet Auxillary, staff, UMT and Cadets all wish Chief Rawlinson the very best of luck for the future.
Thank you Chief
