Summer Camp Update

Summer Camp Update

This year’s annual unit camp will be held at TS Northumbria’s Boat station (nr Gateshead) and the second part at the Sir John Fisher Sailing Centre.  The plan is to meet at the Unit HQ at 1630 on Friday 18th July from Barrow to travel to TS Northumbria until Monday morning; we will then depart and travel back to the Sailing Centre for the remainder of the camp on. The camp will conclude at 1500 on Wednesday 23rd July.

Whilst at TS Northumbria cadets will undertake a range of boating activities in a different environment to what we currently use, providing a totally different opportunity to them. Whilst there, we may also have the potential for the cadets to take in some of the sights around Newcastle.

During the time at the Sailing Centre we are planning to go out onto Walney channel (weather and access by ABP permitting). We will also be using the facilities we have here in Barrow too with the potential for a visit to Cumbria Bowling and the continuing on the water training.

There are still places for cadets too attend. Just return your reply slip to the Ships Office, or ask for another if you have lost it. Please feel free to ask any questions.
