Happy New year to all our supporters. 

After a busy December, it give us great pleasure to announce that George Masson has been voted in to stand another year at the unit Chairmain. He and his team continues the role for another 12 months however they need your help. 

We are currently looking for new members to join our Unit Management Team.

On the 26th of November, one of our youngest adult volunteers headed to Whale Island, Portsmouth to attend the Officer Development Programme National Board.

It gives the Unit great pleasure to announce that Midshipman (SCC) Iona MacLellan RNR has successfully passed the Board at HMS EXCELLENT.

Mid (SCC) MacLellan RNR joined TS SCYLLA at the age of 10 as a Junior Sea Cadets and had progressed up the ranks to Petty Officer Cadet before turning Staff in 2016. During her time in the unit Mid (SCC) MacLellan RNR has attended and successfully passed her Drill Instructors course, RYA Powerboat Instructors course and the Royal Navy Leadership course at HMS Raleigh in Cornwall.

This year Sea Cadets - Aberdeen was on a quest to gain burgee number 4 to equal their tally of 4 from the 70s. This year they achived just that as the 2017 Burgee arrived in the post this week. 

This Year Sea Cadets - Aberdeen attended and also held their own parade on Remembrance Sunday.

The unit lays 4 wreaths on the day and the Unit Chairman, Mr George Masson nomanted Junior Denton to lay one on his behalf at the Memorial for the Harbours workers of Aberdeen.

Althought the weather was cold and wet, the cadets did the unit proud.

Election of the UMC – Individuals who are seeking election to the UMC must have their nomination proposed and seconded.

Nominations can only be accepted if they are submitted on the official nomination form which can be obtained from Mr George Masson, TS SCYLLA, Pocra Quay, Aberdeen, AB11 5DQ or chairman@seacadets-aberdeen.org

There is criteria laid down in Sea Cadet Regulations (SCR) as to who is eligible to sit on the UMC. Please see SCR or contact Mr George Masson for details.

Any waiving of these criteria is at the discretion of the Area Business Manager.

Only fully completed forms will be accepted.

Proof of posting is not proof of receipt.

Fully completed nomination forms need to be received by Mr George Masson by 1st post on

12th December 2017.
