We are once again lucky enough to have the opportunity for some fundraising at Air Day (Saturday July 13th) and have decided to run a tombola of filled mugs, as last year. Unfortunately, we do not have a supply of donated mugs and so would ask that each cadet provides their own (new, not chipped or stained though please) and fill it.  It is entirely up to the individual what to use to fill the mug, and the photo is just an example. 

Please bring them in to the unit any parade night beforehand (as soon as you like).

This is an important fundraising event for us, so please see what you can do.

In addition, it would be great if some parents could help on the stall on the day - let the office know when you can manage - yeovilseacadets@btconnect.com

Sherborne Race for Life

To all those who said they can help on Sunday - thank you!

We need to be at the castle by 8am so will pick up from the gate at 0730 and from Yeovil at 0740. The event will be finished by 1300 but if you bring your phone you can ring home to confirm your arrival time then.

Rig: No 4s with cap.

There might be some refreshments available, but it would be worth bringing snacks and a drink.

Any questions - email the unit or call in to the Ship's Office this evening (if you are not at the reservoir of course).

District Regatta - Sutton Bingham Reservoir - Saturday 22nd June

Rowing:  If you are over 12 and under 15, we have spaces on the boys' and girls' teams.  Please let the Ship's Office know if you are available, or send an email to yeovilseacadets@btconnect.com.

You will need to be at the reservoir for 0900 on Saturday.

Dress for rowing teams: No 4s

Dress for sailing team: sailing kit, bringing No 4s.

Dress for those in the Yole: wet gear, but bring No 4s.

Anyone who has already told the unit you are coming are on the list so no need to let us know again!

You will need to bring a packed lunch and drink.  There will be hot dogs, burgers and tuck for sale.

Don't forget sun screen!

Saturday 22nd June: District Rowing and Sailing Regatta at Sutton Bingham Reservoir.  More details to follow.

Sunday 23rd June:  Sherborne Race for Life.  Fifteen cadets are needed to help the organisers with this.  8am-1pm approximately (at Sherborne Castle). Please let the Ship's Office staff know if you can help.  This event is always fun and the organisers appreciate our help.

Sunday 23rd June:   Armed Forces Day Parade in Weymouth.  This is a celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic and involves veterans and military personnel. The cadets will be taking part in the parade, with transport being provided from the base.  More details are available from the Ship's Office.

Saturday 13th July:  Yeovilton Air Day.  The unit will have a display stand in one of the hangers and the cadets will man this on a rota system. In addition, this is an excellent fundraising and promotion opportunity for the unit and we will again be running a tombola stall.  As in the last two years, we will be asking cadets to bring in a mug that they have filled with goodies (eg sweets, toiletries, plant seeds, stationery). We would be happy to accept filled mugs in the Ship's Office as soon as you like.  The more mugs the more money we can raise for the unit.  If any parent could help on the stall on the day, please let the office staff know.
