ARMISTICE DAY PARADE 2014

ARMISTICE DAY PARADE 2014

On Sunday 9 November 2014, we were honoured to have been asked by the Whitley Bay and North Shields District Royal British Legion to take part in its Remembrance Day parade. Naturally, this is an event Whitley Bay Sea Cadets have participated in for many years and are proud to do so. We paraded through Whitley Bay town centre along with other uniformed youth groups, laid a wreath and our unit were the focus of attention as we formed the cenotaph party. Please see our Facebook page for more information which can be accessed by clicking the Facebook link on our home page.

The Chronicle's Wish Campaign enables not for profit groups to receive a share of £35,000 by collecting tokens from the newspaper. Our cadets, parents and supporters have been busy collecting tokens and we're delighted to announce that they have helped us raise £96.27 which will enable us to give our cadets an adventurous treat! For those of you who helped, thank you very much.

DISTRICT SAILING TROHPHY COMES HOME TO WHITLEY...

DISTRICT SAILING TROHPHY COMES HOME TO WHITLEY...

OC Jack Harley (pictured below) has won the district sailing trophy! This is fantastic news because it is the second year in a row Jack has secured  this accolade to his name. The competition was held on 20 September 2014 and Jack had to demonstrate a wealth of sailing skills in order to be declared the winner and was pitched against cadets representing other units in the district. Congratulations Jack!
