Alpha Company had there annual summer camp and 9 of our Royal Marines cadets attended, with a jam packed week of exercise Damocles, lessons and range days. The cadets that attended extremely enjoyed the experience and have showed interest in attending next year.

District Sailing & windsurfing Competition
The unit was once again off on their travels up to TS Adventure for the district sailing & windsurfing competition. Competing against other units in the district, the cadets showed what they can do by coming 1st overall, 1st & 2nd in the topper class, 1st & 2nd in bosun class, 2nd in Py class, 1st in open pico class and 2nd in windsurfing. BZ to all that competed.
Weston Armed Forces & Air Day
Cadets joined many other organisations to show their support for the Armed Forces and the town. With Saturday doing fundraising and recruiting and then Sunday performing displays in Club & Cutlass, Band and the junior sections Gun Run. A great turn out of cadets to support the local community.

Fundraising & Recruiting.
Cadets from the unit went to Lloyds bank for some fundraising and recruitment joining in their celebrations for 250 years. The following weekend a group of cadets went to a local secondary school Hans Price for their summer fayre to do some fundraising and recruiting, which was very productive as we managed to recruit 15 new cadets to the junior section.
District Rowing & Power boat Competition
The unit were off in July to TS Adventure for the annual District rowing & power boat competition, with all classes filled with the cadets ready to give their all. The cadets done the unit proud coming 2nd in all rowing races and 1st in power. The unit also took home 2014 aggregate boat work trophy.
