Things gets Spooky at TS Carron

There were some spooky goings-on at TS Carron last night! From fabulous costumes, frightful fun and plenty of laughter. It was a fantastic evening for our cadets to relax, unwind, and enjoy some well-deserved social time together.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the night such a great success — from the creative decorators, planners and the event team trying to keep the games on track. Your hard work and enthusiasm truly brought the spooky spirit to life and made it a night to remember!

Our Cadets and Royal Marine cadets recents enjoyed an expedition night learning about map/compass reading, how to cook safely outdoors and how to correctly erect a tent ⛺️ 🧭 🗺️

We also enjoyed a demonstration of how to pack a Bergen, we were all amazed at how many useful items could be packed away in it, another great night of fun, a great insight to what you could do when you sign up for Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Another night of fun, four trinitys beached for a clean before being taken out of the water for the winter season. Our sea cadets, junior cadets and RM cadets all worked really hard, whilst having lots of fun at the same time, great team work!

Indefatigable Cup

Indefatigable Cup

On the 15th September, TS Carron ships company was presented with the Indefatigable Cup for the “Most Improved Unit” from April 2023 - April 2024, whilst under the Command of Lt Cdr (SCC) Blacklaw RNR.

The cup is a prestigious award given annually by the Indefatigable Old Boys' Association to the Sea Cadet Unit that has shown the most significant improvement nationwide in the preceding year.

There are 400 Sea Cadet Units across Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales & England and it is testament to all the effort and commitment from the Cadets & Staff that we have achieved this award.

The Cup itself, first presented in 2006, is a historic silver trophy featuring an enamelled portrait of Lord Nelson. It was once competed for in annual Mersey boat races, before being awarded permanently to Indefatigable in 1938.

We had a wonderful evening celebrating with parents, supporters and invited guests.
