The Big Help Out - Volunteer with Sea Cadets

Sea Cadets are one of the national charities participating in The Big Help Out national initiative to promote volunteering as a way to mark The King’s Coronation. The Big Help Out kicked off on 8 May with 6.51 million people getting involved, including many of our 400 local Sea Cadets units that held open days, activity demonstrations, clean-ups and a host of other events.

We're still looking for even more brilliant volunteers to join Sea Cadets and thanks to The Big Help Out, 10.42 million people say they are more likely to volunteer as a result of this initiative. Find out what’s going on near you by contacting your local unit or take a look on The Big Help Out app.

Cadets visit HMS Echo

Cadets visit HMS Echo

On Sunday 07th April 2013 Stockport Sea Cadets visited HMS Echo while she was on the new cruise liner berth in Liverpool. LT William Rignall RN took the around the ship and on the bridge.

We also got the opportunity to visit some other ships while we were there:

German Ship - Weilhem

Dutch Ship - Bezoeker

This was a good experience for the cadets to see what life is like aboard a vessel.
