Help Keep Stockport Sea Cadets Open

23 February 2026

ur unit is facing an immediate financial shortfall, which, if not addressed quickly, could force us to close. This would mean the loss of a long-standing local youth organisation that provides young people with discipline, confidence, leadership skills and positive opportunities they may not otherwise have access to.

We have launched a JustGiving fundraising appeal to raise the funds needed to keep the unit operating and give us the breathing space to put longer-term solutions in place.

 Please donate here: https://www.justgiving.com/charity/stockportseacadets

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference — and sharing the appeal with friends, family or colleagues helps just as much.

If you have ever seen the impact the cadets have on young people, or value what they bring to the community, now is the time they need you.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any support you are able to give.

The Big Help Out - Volunteer with Sea Cadets

Sea Cadets are one of the national charities participating in The Big Help Out national initiative to promote volunteering as a way to mark The King’s Coronation. The Big Help Out kicked off on 8 May with 6.51 million people getting involved, including many of our 400 local Sea Cadets units that held open days, activity demonstrations, clean-ups and a host of other events.

We're still looking for even more brilliant volunteers to join Sea Cadets and thanks to The Big Help Out, 10.42 million people say they are more likely to volunteer as a result of this initiative. Find out what’s going on near you by contacting your local unit or take a look on The Big Help Out app.
