St Helens Sea Cadets awarded a Grant of £9900...

GREAT NEWS!

We have won a £9900 grant for our project called Head Above the Water.

Personal Development Training for our unit.

Head Above the Water will see a series of courses delivered over the next 12 months which fit in with the ethos of the Sea Cadets, such as Leadership and Teamwork, Confidence Building and Self Esteem, coping with change and Dealing with difficult people. We know from listening to our young cadets that issues such as bullying, fear of violence and learning and anti social behaviour have a huge impact on their wellbeing. Head above the Water project will address these issues, giving the young people key skills and knowledge that they can use throughout their lives, lifting their aspirations, helping them with employment skills and becoming valuable members of society.

Personal Development and Team Building with all the adult volunteers will also provide a more efficient learning environment for the young people and will also enable our local sea cadet unit to function to the best of its abilities.

This is extremely exciting news for St Helens Sea Cadets and her future!
