RYA LEVEL 1 POWER

With waterborne activities re-commencing at Royal Victoria Dock Boating Station  Sunday was devoted to the first day of a an RYA Level 1 Powerboating course.

At it will be back next Sunday to complete and for a general boating session.

We aim to achieve even more time afloat during 2017.

GO APE

Still only February and it was off to Go Ape Tree Top Adventure at Leeds Castle near Maidstone, Kent.

Everyone successfully navigated the challenging obstacles and had a fun day out.

 

DISTRICT DRILL AND PIPING COMPETITION

Over recent weeks cadets have been hard at work training for the District Drill and Piping Competition.

The event was held at Royal Marine Reserve HQ London.

The unit gave a string performance in the Colour Party section as well as individual piping sections.

The area event is due to take -place on Sunday 26 March 2017.

HRH The Duke of York at Sims Education Trust...

 

Every year the scientific Instrument Makers hold an Education Trust Supper for our Apprentices, Scholars and young Freemen. Also invited to this event are Apprentice Masters and our University representatives.

Two Southwark Sea Cadets attended the 2017 supper and were honoured to meet the principal guest, HRH The Duke of York, a keen supporter of technology and engineering.  

 

 

 

12 Volt Planet

Many thanks to our friends at 12 Volt Planet for kindly donating a battery isolation switch for the unit RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat).

Obviously, in the Sea Cadets the more time spent afloat the better ... but it is essential to always use the best state of the art equipment.

12 Volt Plant provide excellent customer service and are highly recommended.
