Southampton Master Mariner's Festival of Shipping

Thursday 12th June 2015 

Cadets from Southampton Sea Cadets Joined Cadets from Winchester Unit, Royal Navy Reservists and members of the Merchant Maritime joined together as standard bearers at the annual Winchester Shipping Festival. The festival pays tribute to those working at or lost their lives at sea.

Following the service the cadets then assisted with the garden party, mingling with the Mayors' of both Southampton and Winchester, to name but a few of the distinguished guests in attendance.

 

A Unit First

22nd May 2016

Today was not only the Wessex District Regatta but it marked a milestone for the Unit as one of our Staff members was promoted from Chief Petty Officer to Warrant Officer 2nd Class.

A first for the unit, CPO Lampert promoted to WO2 (SCC) by Wessex District Officer Lt Cdr (SCC) G. Bassett RNR.

Another busy weekend at Southampton Unit

Wow that was a busy weekend for the cadets of Southampton, it all started on the river in light rain Saturday morning, we then moved on to the Grand Harbour Hotel to support the RFA Association with their 2016 reunion dinner.
Sunday morning began with a road trip to Portsmouth where the cadets competed in the 2016 Wessex District Rowing Regatta, great results and plenty to be proud of, well done to you all.

Another busy day!

 

 

Well done to all of our cadets after a busy weekend of activities on land and water. Sliding seat rowing, power boating, Supporting the ABP Southampton Half Marathon & 10K Races and finally celebrating the Queen's birthday at Winchester Cathedral.

 

 

Silver at Area Continuity Drill!

 

 

Area Drill and Piping was held today at RAF Halton 
13 cadets and four staff left early to begin their journey 
The cadets then put on the show of their lives 
The pipers were brilliant but unfortunately didn't place in the medals??
The continuity drill team went out performed their routine and came second ??

 

In mine and the staffs eyes they are all winners , having spent hours training over the past few months their dedication has shone through
