Area Drill & Piping Comp 5-03-16

Congratulations to LC Beth Rose on a very excellent performance at the South West Area Sea Cadets Drill & Piping Competition 2016.

She represented Warwickshire District and secured 2nd Place with one point between her and 1st place.

Beth returns to the unit with a silver medal and will move onto the National Competition in April.

The results are in! We've had a fantastic day competing and the cadets have done an excellent job. The results are as follows:

Colour Party: 2nd Place

Armed Guard: 3rd Place

Armed Guard Commander: 2nd Place

Individual Piping: Winner - LC Beth Rose

Team Piping: 3rd Place

An excellent set of results and the cadets should be extremely proud of themselves for representing the unit so very well. We done all!

60 themed events - cookies

Our Junior Cadets were busy baking 60 cookies as part of our 60 themed events, celebrating our 60 years.

Well done Juniors, I would like to say they tasted good, but they didn't save us any.

Wow! What a day today. I just wanted to say a huge thanks to all of you that have been involved in training, managing, motivating, administering, supporting or transporting the cadets.  The results are as follows:-

Mary Sutton passed away 21-12-2015

Mary Sutton passed away 21-12-2015

It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Mary Sutton who passed away on 21st December 2015.

Mary had been involved with Shirley Sea Cadets for over 45 years.

The funeral is taking place at 3.30pm on Wednesday 6th January 2016 at Robin Hood Crematorium.

The family have requested family flowers only, but would gladly receive donations which will then be distributed to their chosen charity.
