National Combined Regatta 10-09-16

So so proud of these boys

To go from being beginner rowers in May to getting through District and Area competitions and then getting to Nationals is something I honestly never thought would happen!

So happy to say they are the 6th best junior boys rowing team in the country and makes me so proud to say that I trained them. Said PO Marland.

The boys rowing team got a 2nd and two 3rds and the kayak got a 4th.

Canal trip 10-09-16

Another busy day on the water for Shirley Sea Cadets.

On Saturday 10-09-16 we have 19 paddling from Birmingham Icknield Port Yard back to Shirley, covering a total of 9 miles.

RRS Discovery Visit 20-08-16

On Saturday 20th August Cadets were invited to visit RRS Discovery by the Captain of the ship.

This was a very enjoyable experience for the cadets and staff and our thanks go to Captain Joe Cox (who by the way is an ex TSG Cadet)

Canal trip from The Drawbridge, Shirley, to...

12 cadets and 5 staff embarked on a 10 mile paddle to Birmingham, in a creditable 6 hours.

First time for most that took part.

Well done all on a fantastic day out

Canal litter pick 24-07-16

On Sunday 24-07-16 Cadets from our Unit spent a great day out on the Canal with Solihull Canoe Club litter picking along the Grand Union Canal.

In total they collected about 12 black bags of rubbish from the canal.

Well do to all involved.
