Southern Area Rowing Regatta

Southern Area Rowing Regatta

Another successful day of boating as Sheppey cadets participated in the Area Rowing and Boat Handling Regatta.
The Junior Sea Cadet and Cadet Boys crews tried extremely hard in some difficult conditions, unfortunately not making it into medal position.
Our extremely young Cadet Girls crew working well together and achieved an amazing 3rd place!
However the surprise result of the day came from the Open Boys Rowing crew who stuck together in a mission to prove they really are strong, winning the units first rowing gold that staff can remember. Apparently they really do have muscles!
Well done to all cadets who took part! Another brilliant day!
Thank you to all of the staff who have supported the cadets in their successes, either in training, transporting or supervision!

Southern Area Sailing Regatta 2015

Of the 8 boats allowed to enter as the West Kent District team, Sheppey provided all 8, forming one of the strongest teams staff can remember.
After a delayed start due To strong winds our cadets proved just how amazing they are gaining medals in each of the 4 classes and winning 3 of the 4 class trophies... 7 of these crews will now go forward to Area Race Training to hopefully be selected for the National Regatta later this year!
Brilliant effort from all of you... We couldn't be more proud!
