Staithes Lifeboat Weekend

Staithes Lifeboat Weekend

One of the highlights of the year for Redcar Sea Cadets. This year we attended on the Saturday to assist with the street collection for Staithes and Runswick RNLI weekend, followed by a drill display to the crowds gathered on the Staithe. Other attractions included a barbecue, ferret racingand a raft race.

We returned on the Sunday for the evening service where the cadets performed colours and took up the collection on behalf of the RNLI.

Around £12,000 was raised for the RNLI and we always receive a very warm welcome from the villagers and visitors.

Redcar Sea Cadets Garden entry for Northumbria...

Redcar Sea Cadets took part in Marske Community Partnerships' entry for Northumbria in Bloom, and we are going for Gold. The theme for this entry is 'Sea and Sand'.  Local community groups are offered plots in the 'Rainbow Garden' in front of Marske Hall. Enthusiastic UMC members have weeded, planted, and created some fabulous displays for the Northumbria in Bloom competition.

Redcar Sea Cadets were offered a garden in 2012 following successful collaborations with Marske Community Partnership, when we helped out at the Party on the Pitch and the Christmas Santa Parade.
